Mercy Housing Lakefront
Felix R. Matlock, Jr. is the Regional Vice President Resident Services for Mercy Housing Lakefront, a provider of affordable and permanent/supportive housing. Previously he was Associate Director, Chicago Christian Industrial League and President of The Innovation Group, an organizational development consulting firm with a focus on not-for-profit social service agencies. With over 50 years in social services, Mr. Matlock is a seasoned professional with executive management experience across a multitude of agency and service types.
Currently, as Regional Vice President of Resident Services, Mr. Matlock manages day-to-day program operations, including program planning, development and implementation, strategic planning, and personnel management. In this role, he assures ethical service practices to its customers, implements services of the highest quality, and ensures that a comprehensive mix of program services are designed and implemented consistent with the best practices in the field and contractual requirements.
Prior to joining Mercy Housing Lakefront, Mr. Matlock served as Associate Director-Program Services for The Chicago Christian Industrial League and prior to that Mr. Matlock was President/CEO of The Aurora Family YMCA. In these roles Mr. Matlock managed community based social service agencies providing a wide range of transitional housing, recreational, cultural, and alternative programs for youth, adults, and families. In addition, Mr. Matlock’s responsibilities included, but were not limited to, managing organizational finances, fundraising, human resources, assisting in the management of program facilities, agency personnel management, and developing the board of directors, volunteers, and staff. Mr. Matlock has performed similar responsibilities as President of the Innovations Group, a management consulting firm providing services to not for profit organizations, community development organizations and various governmental entities.
Mr. Matlock is a doctoral candidate in Applied Management & Decision Sciences, Walden University. He has a master’s degree in education administration from Springfield College and a bachelor’s degree in education from Tennessee State University. Mr. Matlock was an Adjunct Faculty at Spertus Institute for Jewish Leadership and Learning, Chicago, Illinois in the master’s program in Non-Profit Management.
