Nineteen-year-old year old Taquan has been bounced from foster home to foster home since he was 2 years old. Like many other foster children, he finally aged out of the foster care system and was left to live on the streets.

But Taquan dreams of something bigger for himself. He says,

I consider basketball my dream and journalism my passion. I love playing basketball but I also love writing. I dream about playing basketball, about being a famous player, an agent or even a sportswriter.

Covenant House educational programs and job training help kids like Taquan learn the skills they need to accomplish their dreams and find their way off the streets… for good.

The names and faces of some of our kids have been changed to protect their identities.
