The Associate Board is a group of engaged, proactive, professionals who are dedicated to serving homeless and at-risk young people. The Associate Board was created to advance and promote the mission of Covenant House Illinois in the greater Chicagoland area and to advise senior leadership on matters concerning CHIL’s services and relationships with the broader Chicago community. Here’s how our Associate Board members help fight youth homelessness in Chicago.

Fundraising
Each member of CHIL’s Associate Board works to raise a minimum of $2,000 annually (January - December). Members can raise this amount by participating in Sleep Out and Associate Board fundraisers, running a race for Covenant House Home Team, personal contributions, employer matching and grants, and in-kind donations.
Sleep Out
Members participate in and recruit for Sleep Out, which is a Covenant House Illinois' signature event, held annually in November.
Outreach
The CHIL Associate Board works to advance and promote the mission of Covenant House. This includes advocating on behalf of homeless youth, recruiting for fundraisers and events, and advising senior leadership concerning CHIL’s services and relationships with the broader Chicago community.
Meeting Participation
Members attend at least three out of four quarterly Associate Board meetings, as well as applicable committee meetings. Members are asked to join at least one of the Associate Board committees.
