Johnpaul Higgins is Chief Development Officer at Covenant House Illinois, where he leads fundraising, communications, and philanthropic strategy in support of young people experiencing homelessness in Chicago.


A nonprofit leader with more than 25 years of experience, Johnpaul has helped guide Covenant House Illinois through a period of significant growth. He led CHIL’s $12 million capital campaign, which resulted in the acquisition and complete redevelopment of the organization’s West Side campus, creating a permanent home for expanded housing and supportive services for young people. He has also helped grow and diversify CHIL’s philanthropic support, building partnerships with individuals, foundations, corporations, and government.


As a member of CHIL’s executive leadership team, Johnpaul is now helping shape the organization’s next chapter of growth, including plans to expand its campus, increase housing capacity, and create new opportunities for young people experiencing homelessness in Chicago.


Throughout his career, Johnpaul has focused on connecting people and resources with organizations working to strengthen communities and create opportunity.
