Willis Francis

Willis Francis, LCPC joins Covenant House with over 20 years of management leadership experience. As a non-profit leader he has focused on strengthening organizational capacity to serve the most vulnerable by building resilience, flexibility and adaptability to navigate rapidly changing environments. Prior to joining Covenant House Mr. Francis oversaw the case management, medical, educational, recreational and mental health service needs of over a thousand youth annually across multiple unaccompanied minor and justice-involved residential programs. Mr. Francis expertise includes specialized training in Social and Cultural foundations and the intersectionality between culture, human diversity and clinical practice. He has substantial clinical management expertise working with a range of vulnerable populations, such as services with urban youth, unaccompanied immigrant children, LGBTQ, complex trauma & human trafficking victims. Throughout his career, Mr. Francis has worked collaboratively with organizations and providers to meet the needs of children, youth and families. Mr. Francis has participated in a 2-year DBT training program provided by the Marsha Linehan group, and a Motivational Interviewing Advance Training provided by Dr. William Miller, Ph.D. hosted by the University of Chicago. His practice has included work with victims of severe physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, gang-involved youth, in-patient psychiatric adolescent, and tender age/pediatric populations with congenital medical conditions. Additionally, his past experiences include over 3 years as adjunct faculty and Associate Professor at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and Preceptor for the Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology program at Northwestern University, Evanston.
