This August, as we celebrate Black Business Month, we are excited to shine the spotlight on one of our very own stars at CHIL—John Sims, our dedicated Facilities Manager, who recently achieved a significant milestone in his personal and professional journey.

John has been an integral part of our team, ensuring that our facilities are safe, welcoming, and comfortable for all who walk through our doors. His commitment to excellence and attention to detail has been a cornerstone of our operations. But John’s talents and passions extend far beyond the walls of CHIL.

When asked about his inspiration for the book, John shared, "I grew up in Chicago and have always been inspired to write. Seeing the impact bullying has on kids pushed me to write this book. I want to encourage children to speak up if they’re going through something like that. My goal is to show them that being unique is what makes us special, and it’s totally okay to be different."
